The 7th edition of U-13 JOF Kids Cup Tournament has kicked off across two centres in Lagos State.
Sponsored by JOF Nigeria Limited, the grassroots football tournament is designed to unearth football talent among teeming Nigerian youngsters in Lagos.
This year, 64 teams will participate in the 7th edition with a total of 64 matches scheduled to be played.
The first round will see a total number of 32 matches, while 32 matches will be played in the second round and 16 matches will be played in the third round, 8 matches will be played in the fourth round and 4 matches in the quarter-final final and 2 matches in the semi final.
The kicked off game was played at Ojo Oniyun Sports Centre in Ebute Metta on 28 February 2026 where Mainlander Football Club of Mainland beat Best Talent Football Academy of Ipaja 2-1.
Other results of the first weekend of the 7th edition saw Ikosi FA defeating Senior Boys FA of Mushin 3-1, HB Utility FA beat Davis FC 2-0, Junior Boys FA from Bariga bowed to Soccer City of Iwaya in 1-3 game, Zamadek Boys of Lagos Island 0-1 to B.Unit FA of Mainland.
In other results, Young Boys FA of Orile could not withstand Layoyen FA of Aguda in a match that ended 1-2.
Results at the Ojo Oniyun Sports Centre in Ebute Metta in the second weekend of the tournament (Saturday and Sunday, 7 & 8 March 2026) saw Versity FA losing 0-1 to Clever Star FA from Ajegunle Melody from Iwaya beat Ultimate Villa, Ajegunle 3-2, while Twins FA from Coker and Ghetto Tiger FA played barren draw in the regulation of time only for Tiger to win the match 4-3 penalty shootout.
At Lekki playground Skilful FA from Oshodi were 1-0 triumph over Shaker FA from Mafoluku, VI Foot FA, Ikora beat Rising Stars from Ikorodu 1-0. Pure Talent FA from Bariga defeated Light Parish FA, Ogudu 3-1
Meanwhile, organiser, Lagos State Grassroots Football Association, says matches will be played on Wednesday 11th March 2026 at the two centres.
The JOF kids cup tournament is one of the Corporate Social Responsibility programs of the sponsor company, JOF Nigeria Limited, a wholly indigenous manufacturing and supply chain services organisation, which took special interest in the development of talents of the Nigerian youths.
