Adekola Boluwaji is being wanted by the ploice for doing his job as a journalist
The management of Khai Reports, a Nigerian digital newspaper, has again raised the alarm over the undue interference of the police in Lagos State in its constitutional operations to the Nigerian people.
The newspaper recalled how a combined team of the police invaded the Lagos office of the newspaper in Agege, Lagos State on Saturday, 26th July 2025, demanding, with threats, the whereabouts of one of its editorial staff, Mr. Adekola Boluwaji Nifemi over what they described as the reporter’s series of articles published on the Khai Reports websites which they felt very offence to some high and mighties in the society.
“It’s disheartening to note that the police came back again on Wednesday, 6 August 2025; this time around, those who came were detectives from the Police Headquarters in Ikeja. They didn’t mince words, threatening the staff that the management knew the whereabouts of Mr Adekola. They said they will continue to pay us a visit regularly,” said Mr Femi Akinola, the editor of the newspaper.
The Editor further revealed that he has been trying to connect with the wife of Mr Adekola, Janet Foluke, since the weekend, an attempt that has proved abortive.
He said: “We have been trying to reach out to Mrs Adekola for days. We couldn’t get to her on her mobile line. Her line has not been reachable and is out of coverage. This has given me a lots of concerns about what might have happened.
“Nevertheless, Khai Reports needs to alert the. Nigerian public should know what is going on before it leads to something that would be out of control,” the Editor said in a press statement made available to Jamal News in Lagos.
